Initial Image Looks like this

Select zoom tool

right click in center of image which will show zoom menu. zoom out 3 or 4 times, you’ll see this. the white area is the viewport for whichever size you chose for the image.

choose the pointer tool

don’t forget to save the new file

with the pointer tool selected, choose the menu choice file, Import from the menu. choose the image you want, and it loads into a 1/2 square, ready to be placed. click left mouse button once in the upper left corner of the white box to place the image.

detail I forgot: when you are about to click and place the image, if you click and hold the left mouse button, you can drag the box and make the placed image whatever size you want by letting go of the mouse. that way, you don’t have to place the image at original size saving time resizing!

picture has loaded at original size, most of it doesn’t show. blue lines denote the actual dimensions of the larger image in relation to your viewport. (size you chose)

click on the scale tool, and hover over a corner of the image. there are little boxes in each corner and on the sides. when you hover over the black box on the corner, it turns into a double arrow head. Click once AND HOLD the left mouse button, drag it down and to the right, and let go. The image will become smaller. Repeat until it’s the correct size. You can click and hold with the left mouse button to move the image around. click, hold and drag to position and let go.
